1965 Trail-A-Sled

1965 Trail-A-Sled - Prior to 1963, Trail-A-Sled produced Snowplanes. The company was founded by Glen Gutsman, Eugene Harrison, and his son Richard Harrison. They started manufacturing snowmobiles in 1963 in Crosby, MN. From 1963 through 1965 the sleds were made entirely of fiberglass. As you can see on this 1965 model, the cab and chassis are molded together as one piece. In 1964, Trail-A-Sled patented a one-piece rubber track for use on the 1965 models and became the first U.S. manufacturer to do so. Two cycle engines were also introduced on some of the 1965 models.
