1968 Polaris TX 500

1968 Polaris TX 500 - In 1968 Polaris Industries introduced the first of the famed TX series of snowmobiles, a series that was to run for 12 years. The TX was manufactured for one purpose, Racing and Performance. Advertising claimed the “TX 500 is a limited production, maximum performance snowmobile”. Although called a TX 500, the machine actually came with four different engine options. They were: JLO 372cc modified to 396cc JLO 594cc opposed twin Hirth 600cc twin JLO 744cc twin The engine in this model is a 594cc opposed twin cylinder motor. Owner: Steve Bilacic
