1969 Caribou: In the fall of 1969 the first Caribou was made by Enterprise Ben Augus, Ltd., Lambton, Quebec. The small full track Caribou has a 295cc Kohler, 19hp engine, two 10 inch tracks, weighted 400 lbs and could travel at a top speed of 35mph. It sold for $1295.00. It could pivot on itself, so it was able to be used all year.
By 1972 production slowed down and the company had to file for bankruptcy. Between 1500-2000 machines were made from 1970-1971.
