1963 Polaris K-70 D Sno-Traveler: Polaris Industries of Roseau, Minnesota produced the Sno-Traveler beginning in 1957. They also produced the same machine, but assembled in Canada, and it was called the Autoboggan.
The original Sno-Traveler was strong, made of steel, to haul heavy loads. They tended to not travel well in the deep snow. In 1963, a smaller, 2-person, model was made. It offered a 7hp Kohler engine. This machine also has the optional foot rests. This model sold for $695.00
This machine served many uses in Mackinaw City, MI and was donated to the Museum by Bill Alexander in memory of his late father.
